ABOUT MATHILDE
MATHILDE DAGMAR DEHN

STYLIST & VISUAL DESIGNER

I am a stylist and visual designer. I focus on fashion styling, still life, advertising, and interior design.
I develop and realize visual concepts for brands, photo productions, and private clients — starting with the initial idea to precise execution.
With my international experience, I combine styling, set design, and interior design to create cohesive visual worlds that are clearly aligned with brand identity, target audience, and context. My approach goes beyond classic styling: I think of visual productions as whole systems.
For companies, agencies, and brands, this means: a consistent visual language, smoother production processes, and precise execution at the highest level.

FORMAL TRAINING
My work is based on a rare combination of design education, craftsmanship, and a scientific understanding of textiles and materials.
VITA
  • University entrance qualifaction
  • 3-year fashion school with a focus on design and concept development, completed with distinction
  • Training as a women’s tailor
  • Studies in applied textile sciences
  • Alongside this: assisting photographers, stylists, and advertising agencies
This formal training allows me to bring:

  • a deep understanding of materials, cut, and proportion
  • an analytical approach to fashion and product staging
  • the highest level of precision in the execution of styling and set design

Unlike many career changers in the field of styling, my work is based on genuine expertise — visible in every detail and in the overall image.

International experience in fashion and advertising productions
For many years, I have worked as a freelance stylist for national and international clients. I realize photo productions worldwide — across Europe, the USA, Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and the United Arab Emirates.
My experience includes productions for
  • Luxury brands
  • Beauty and cosmetics companies
  • Corporate brands
  • Retail and fashion companies
  • In addition,I worked as a freelance fashion editor for various publications of Burda Verlag.
International Experience & Languages

I work internationally and flexibly across a wide range of production contexts.

I have spent extended periods in Italy as well as in the USA, including New York and Miami, and speak German, English, and Spanish.

This international experience enables smooth collaboration within global teams and international projects.

Specialization: Fashion & Still Life
A key differentiating factor is the combination of fashion styling and still life styling. While many stylists specialize in one area, I combine both disciplines into a holistic approach. This allows me to conceptualize campaigns in their entirety — from model to product.
For brands, this means:
  • visual consistency across all image content
  • precise alignment between product and staging
  • stronger brand identity across campaigns and content
My range of services includes:

  • Fashion styling
  • Still life styling
  • Advertising styling and campaign development
  • Set design and interior styling
  • Trend consulting and creative consulting
  • Production organization and team coordination

This range allows me to lead projects not only creatively, but also structurally — a decisive advantage in complex productions.

Interior Styling & Interior Decoration
In addition to classic photo productions, I develop interior and decoration concepts — both for shoots and for private clients. My strength in spatial thinking is especially evident in set design, where I not only design spaces but use them deliberately as part of the visual language.
I focus on
  • clear, reduced design
  • structured spaces
  • conscious materiality
  • strong spatial impact
Visual Approach and Design Philosophy

My visual language is clear, reduced, and precise. My focus is on brand-oriented design — not on putting a personal style in the foreground.

I develop visual worlds that:

  • are structured and consistent
  • are aligned with brand identity
  • remain timeless and functional

Rather than decorative staging, my work centers on visual clarity.

Personal Background
Growing up in an environment shaped by art, architecture, and music, I developed an early sensitivity for form, space, and visual composition.
These influences continue to shape my work today — especially in the connection between styling, design, and spatial staging.
